| Water Management |
The efficient use of water is an ever-greater priority for most industries. While processes are getting more intensive, water is becoming more expensive and scarce causing production bottlenecks. Effluent standards are harder to meet. External agencies are more difficult to satisfy. All of these pressures are bound to increase, and KBC water management services are equipped to help.
Over the years, in most branches of industry, KBC has routinely identified scope for significant water flow and contaminant load reductions, resulting in substantial reductions in both operating and capital costs.
We start by establishing how much of which water you are currently using for which purpose. Often, this reveals a lack of sufficient reliable water metering. Our proprietary WaterTracker software can help where initial data quality is poor, so that the time spent obtaining additional measurements is reduced to a minimum. Constructing a representative water balance helps greatly with understanding the issues involved.
Our proven WaterPinchTM technology can aid the development of efficient process water networks and effluent treatment strategies. Other tools, along with our extensive experience with many processes, allow us to analyse water usage and treatment issues in more detail.
While traditional approaches focus on start-of-pipe (water in-take) or end-of-the-pipe (effluent treatment) solutions, we look within the processes to identify the best overall solution. The end-result will help you to save fresh water, reduce effluent treatment and disposal costs, minimise capital investment, and, in some cases, increase yield and debottleneck the process.
