ProSteam
Legislative, economic, and environmental drivers make it imperative for most manufacturing companies to optimise fuel and power utilisation and minimise fuel-related emissions. With varying seasonal and operational demands, a wide choice of tariff structures, and emissions related costs, the task of ensuring minimum cost steam system operation has never been more complex.

ProSteam helps reduce capital and operational utility costs by optimising the design and operation of the site utility system, by working with Microsoft Excel® to model steam and power systems.

A ProSteam model allows the client to make decisions regarding operating policies, and it also helps in evaluating the cost and benefit of different co-generation configurations, control strategies, and energy contract options. The programme also helps calculate the break-even point of power generation at varying gas and electricity prices, turbine loads, and more. From determining site utility demands and energy-related emissions to on-line steam balancing and automatic open loop optimisation, ProSteam helps clients achieve minimum cost utility system operation through:
  • Improved Design and Investment Planning
  • Automated Online Operational Optimisation
  • Continued Performance Monitoring
  • Advanced Demand Forecasting and Production Planning
  • Improved Tariff Evaluation and Contract Management
  • Enhanced Emissions Targeting and Reporting
ProSteam is available as a stand alone tool kit incorporating a model builder or an on-line optimiser. It can be configured in many different ways from a simple stand-alone, off-line modelling application on a single PC, to a site-wide optimisation, monitoring, and reporting application deployed across the client's network with automated data retrieval, and performance tracking and reporting.
