REF-SIM™ is a comprehensive kinetic naphtha reformer model. It can model all key reformer unit types:
  • Continuous Catalyst Regeneration (CCR)
  • Semi-Regenerative or Regenerative (Cyclic)
  • Pilot Plants
This software can model gasoline and BTX (petrochemical) operations, simulating the reactor, separator, and hydrogen recycle systems, and it provides a complete heat-and-material-balance solution. REF-SIM is used to simulate the effects of changes in feedstock, operating conditions, and catalyst age or catalyst circulation rate for moving bed units.

The catalyst is characterised by its performance in a plant test, and no specific catalyst data is required. REF-SIM has successfully simulated catalysts with various metals loadings and with product separator pressures ranging from 40 to 600 psi (275 to 4000 kPa).
